Rod Luff

Just found these absoloutly lush drawings done by Rod Luff.
By the looks of them they are created by using charcoal, pencil and maybe a few dabs of paint. I really love the style of imagery and the realism of the characters within the drawing but then the fluid and completely inventive mix of other objects, creatures and shapes. The simplicity in the colour and tone makes the pencil lines and shapes stand out much more and you get a real sense of emotion as well as the intecity of the pose and layout.
The main one that interests me is the one named Rod-Luff-illustrations-3 because of the incredible mix of of the ladys shape, style and position in contrast to this ‘alien’ body which seems to have consumed a human or atleast has human features. It could be a lot of help to what we’re looking at for our new brief.
